Adding Procedures to a Repair Plan

Repair procedures can be added to both new and existing plans in a similar fashion.

There are three primary methods to add procedures to a repair plan--using the categories list/3D model, Quick Start, and keyword-based search--to efficiently locate and include vehicle-specific repair procedures.

Note: At any point during this part of the process, click Vehicle from the left menu to make updates to the selected damage areas. (Vehicle details themselves cannot be changed.)

To add procedures to a repair plan:

1. Open the repair plan. 
   1. If coming from a brand new repair plan, you will automatically be directed to the Procedures page. 
   2. If opening an existing repair plan: 
      1. Click to open one from the My Plans or All Plans tabs.
         
      2. Click Procedures from the left side panel. 
         
2. Use Quick Start, the Vehicle Areas categories, or a keyword search to find and add procedures. (Click here for tips on searching for procedures.) Click an option below to continue.

   • The Quick Start section provides the most common procedures and information about the vehicle.

     To add procedures using the Quick Start section: 

     1. Choose an option from the Quick Start section. 
        
        Options include: 
        • HotSheet (curated category offering procedures commonly applicable to most collision repairs)
        • Calibration Guide (documentation for required ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibrations based on the vehicle’s damage area)
        • Position Statements
        • General | Safety
        • Airbags | Restraints(SRS)
        • ADAS
     2. To narrow your browsing, you can: 
        1. Click an option in the Types panel.
           
        2. Use the search bar to search for a specific procedure in that group.
           
     3. To view a procedure: 
        1. Click the procedure.
        2. The procedure will display in a new window. 
           
           From here, the top toolbar enables you to:
           1. Search for specific keywords using the search bar.
           2. Click Print to print the procedure.
           3. Click Download PDF to save a PDF version of the procedure to your computer.
           4. Check the Add to Plan box to add it to the repair plan. You can also:
              1. Click the drop-down to choose a group for the procedure.
                 
              2. Select an option, and the plan will automatically update.
                 
        3. When ready, click the X in the upper right to close the window. 
     4. To add a procedure without viewing it: 
        1. Check the box to the left of a procedure. 
           
        2. If it contains more than one procedure/document, all options will display, automatically checked. Uncheck any you do not wish to add.
           
     5. To view procedures on the repair plan at any time: 
        1. Click the arrow next to Summary in the lower left.
           
        2. The box will expand to show all categories. Click a category to view it and see which procedures have been checked.
           
     6. Once all procedures have been added, assign technicians to each procedure to begin working on the vehicle.

   • The recommended way to add multiple procedures is by using categories in the Vehicle Areas list or the 3D Model to narrow the results. (Click here to learn more about Categories and Types.)

     To add procedures through the Categories List/3D Model view:

     1. First, choose a category by:
        1. Clicking an option in the Vehicle Areas section. (Any categories previously marked as damage areas display the icon. If vehicle does not have marked damage areas, a prompt will appear to select it.)
           
           -or-
        2. Click the impacted part from the 3D model to pull up the associated category.
           
           Note: The toolbar under the 3D model provides the following actions:
           
           • Use the and buttons to zoom in and out of the 3D model.
           • Toggle Show Teardown on to see the teardown view.
           • Toggle View Inner Structure on to view the interior of the image.
           • Click Reset to reset the 3D model.
     2. Click a type from the Types panel. All procedures within this type will display. The category and type it belongs to is listed below, with any damage area categories marked with a icon. 
        
        1. Note: Use the All [Type Name] at the top of the Types list to view all procedures in that type.
     3. To view a procedure, click to open it. Use the Search box to locate specific information within the procedure. 
        
        1. All instances of your keyword search will be highlighted and the procedure will jump to the first instance of the keyword. 
     4. To add the procedure to the repair plan: 
        1. From within the procedure, check the Add to Plan box to the right.
           
        2. From the procedures list, check the box next to the list item(s) you wish to add.
           
     5. Continue searching for and adding procedures as desired. 
     6. Once all procedures have been added, assign technicians to each procedure to begin working on the vehicle.

   • If you aren't sure which category to choose to find a procedure, use the dynamic search bar at the top of any page of the Procedures section. 

     To add procedures using the search bar:

     1. Enter a keyword or phrase. 
        
     2. Press ENTER on your keyboard (or click the magnifying glass). 
     3. Your search results will display. The results section shows how many results were found, the keyword searched, and which category or type the results are found. Any categories previously marked as damage areas display the icon. 
        
     4. Use the Vehicle Areas categories to narrow your search to specific sections of the catalog. Available results for each section will display to the right. Note: Your keyword(s) will remain in the search box as you navigate through the vehicle information and the search results are filtered down to that category or type as you make your selections. 
        
     5. As you drill into the catalog, RepairLogic automatically updates the results count to reflect the section you've entered.
        
        1. Use the Search All Procedures link to return to the top level. 
     6. To view a procedure, click to open it. All instances of your keyword search will be highlighted and the procedure will jump to the first instance of the keyword. 
        
     7. To add the procedure to the repair plan: 
        1. From within the procedure, check the Add to Plan box to the right. 
           
        2. From the procedures list, check the box next to the list item(s) you wish to add.
           
     8. Continue searching for and adding procedures as desired. 
     9. Once all procedures have been added, assign technicians to each procedure to begin working on the vehicle.
